About Me

I’ve been down this road…

My wheelhouse is small–medium business.

I've worked in them, on them and owned them.

Over the past decade I've built and operated three of my own businesses, product and service-based.

I've created brands, products and services, built websites and customer experiences, worked through operational challenges and sold tonnes of product (literally) along the way.

Before that I spent a decade working in a market-leading Australian company, managing and growing multiple #1 brands.

My experience:

Marketing + Sales + Management + Operations + Special Projects.

My combination of corporate experience, running businesses and owning them has converged to shape the way I work today.

Why I do this

I’ve seen the same thing happen to business owners, over and over again.

They know certain parts of their business well.

They know their primary customers.

They know there's an opportunity.

But they're too close to it / don’t see certain problems clearly / don't have the time, expertise or resources to work out what to do next.

That's where an experienced outside perspective makes a difference.

I can come in and understand the business, identify the issue or opportunity and help work out what should happen next.

Then importantly, I can help make it happen.

I’m not interested in consulting for consulting’s sake.

There’s a place for strategy, reports and in-depth presentations.

But most small and medium business owners don't need more theory.

They need practical answers.

They need someone who understands the commercial reality.

They need someone who can say;

"Here's what I think is happening"

"Here's what I'd change"

"Here's why"

"And, here's how we can actually do it."

Experience that matters

Business ownership.

I've built and operated three of my own businesses.

That means I've experienced the decisions, pressure and trade-offs that come with actually being responsible for a business.

Hands-on execution.

I don't simply recommend something be done and hand it to someone else.

I can create brands, build websites, write copy, design customer experiences and develop practical processes.

Corporate experience.

I spent a decade in a leading Australian company, working on multiple #1 brands.

This gave me exposure to the scale, structure and commercial disciplines of larger businesses.

Commercial thinking

Everything ultimately comes back to viability and performance of the business.

More customers. More sales. Better experiences. Better processes. Better decisions. Better business.

What I believe

Simple is better.

Good solutions don’t need to be unnecessarily complicated.

Experience matters.

There's a difference between knowing something in theory and actually having done it.

Strategy needs execution.

Great plans and ideas that never get implemented are useless.

Customers first.

If you actually understand the customer, better business decisions follow.

Business owners need practical answers.

The solutions proposed need to actually work - not just look or sound good.

Think I could help?

You don't need to prepare a brief.

You don't need to know exactly what service you need.

Just tell me what's going on.

I'll take it from there.
